Source Validator Performance Directly Impacts Shreds Speed

In Solana's Shredstream, the performance of the source validator directly impacts shred arrival speed. No matter how optimized the network path is, shreds cannot arrive fast if the source validator is not fast.

Over the past two years, we have continuously invested in validator performance R&D, pushing the Epics DAO Validator to the TOP 20 in the Shinobi Performance Pool (score: 99.88). Epic Shreds is the direct result of this research — a Shreds product built on validator performance.

Structural Speed Advantage — Hops, Hardware, and Network Path

There are three structural reasons why Epic Shreds is faster than conventional Shredstream-based products.

Minimal Hops

Conventional Shredstream relies on a delivery structure that routes through the block engine and Jito platform. Epic Shreds is sourced from the Epics DAO Validator and delivered through a minimal-hop path to the user. Fewer relay steps means physically faster delivery — this is a fundamental difference created by architecture.

Latest-Generation Hardware

The Epics DAO Validator, the source of Epic Shreds, runs on latest-generation hardware including AMD EPYC 5th Gen. With CPU C-states disabled, the CPU governor locked to performance, kernel parameters optimized, the network stack tuned, and IRQ affinity carefully configured, every layer is built for speed-first operation with all power-saving and performance-throttling features eliminated.

Source Validator Connected to DoubleZero

DoubleZero is a high-performance network infrastructure that connects validators via dedicated fiber-optic lines, bypassing the public internet. The Epics DAO Validator — the source of Epic Shreds — is connected to DoubleZero, securing a stable delivery path free from the latency and jitter of the public internet. This is what drives the significant speed improvement at the P99 level.

We measured shred arrival order between Epic Shreds and conventional Shredstream on the same machine, from the same network environment.

Why We Build Our Own Fastest Platform

ELSOUL LABO has been assigned its own ASN (AS200261) by RIPE NCC and is building a Solana-specialized, top-tier data center. The facility is built on the latest generation of AMD EPYC 5th Gen, AMD Threadripper PRO 5th Gen (including 9975WX), and NVMe Gen5 hardware, combined with optimized network path design via our own ASN.

Service availability is expected to begin between the end of this month and next month, providing the next-generation foundation for further Epic Shreds acceleration.

Five Consecutive Years of WBSO Approval

ELSOUL LABO has received approval under the Dutch government's WBSO R&D support program for five consecutive years since 2022. Ongoing research in ultra-low-latency Solana RPC infrastructure and automated validator orchestration directly feeds into platform performance improvements.
