Solana VPS or Bare Metal: which should I choose?
Choose VPS for cost-efficient, lightweight tasks like proxies, stream subscriptions, and running lightweight scripts, starting from 16 euros per month. Choose Bare Metal for performance-critical use cases; it starts at 140 euros per month and is typically available in larger server configurations. ERPC VPS connects to the same Direct Shreds network as Bare Metal, so choosing VPS is not a slower tier and you can start light and scale up later. It runs on the latest 4th-gen AMD EPYC CPUs with DDR5 and 4th-gen NVMe and takes full advantage of the cloud environment.

For landing transactions fastest, place your VPS in or near a validator-dense region such as Frankfurt or the US East Coast, where leader slots happen more often. There is no single permanent best region, because the leader validator changes every slot. ERPC operates nodes in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London, Dublin, New York, Chicago, Salt Lake City, Tokyo, Singapore, and Sydney. Place your VPS near your target validators, or use the Leader Slot API to decide between single-region, dual-region, or global deployment.
Which transport should I run on my Solana VPS, and how do I choose?
On an ERPC VPS, default to Direct Shreds for the fastest path to block data. For stream speed, the order is Direct Shreds first, then Geyser gRPC, then WebSocket, and ERPC VPS connects directly to the Direct Shreds network. Your client language matters too: Rust outperforms Go, then TypeScript, then Python, so ERPC recommends Rust for maximum performance.
